Kempower Satellite with Power Unit: Modular DC Fast Charging for Sites With Limited Space

The Kempower Satellite with Power Unit splits fast charging into two parts. A central Power Unit holds the power electronics, while slim Satellites at the parking bays carry the cables and the touch screen. Because the bulky hardware sits in one place, the bays themselves need little room. That helps in parking halls, along walls and at busy retail sites. The weatherproof design allows indoor and outdoor installation.

One system serves up to eight outputs, as four dual-outlet or eight single-outlet Satellites, with up to 320 kW per Satellite. The Power Unit supplies up to 600 kW in total, and its 50 kW power modules can be added step by step as demand grows. Outlets are available with CCS2 or CHAdeMO. Drivers authenticate by RFID or follow the session on their phone, a spring mechanism takes the weight of the cable, and payment terminals can be added for public sites. The Kempower C-Station houses the C-Series power electronics and the charging cables in one cabinet, so there is no separate dispenser to plan, cable or install. The cables are fitted at the factory, and installation mainly means a stable base and a three-phase connection. For non-public charging, it covers 50 to 400 kW, from a single cabinet up to a two-cabinet system.

An RFID reader limits access to authorised users, and the integrated energy meter meets MID and Eichrecht requirements for accurate, traceable kWh records. Two outputs, such as CCS and CHAdeMO, let you charge vehicles with different connector types from the same unit. The noise level stays below 55 dBA. When demand grows, you add power modules in the field, and dynamic power distribution directs power to whichever charge point needs it.
